Poetry
I wrote this poem for my granddaughter Elsa Stubbs’ 14th birthday, November 12, 2018.
A Birthday Poem For Elsa
Sweet Elsa is a special girl,
Can fix her hair with perfect curl.
Kicks a ball good as any boy,
Eatin' her cooking is such a joy.
There’s this one thing, and it ain’t funny:
She works real hard and saves her money.
With Isaac, Lucas, and Bennett she shares
Fun backyard play and double dares.
Blessed with talent, can she ever sing.
My favorite songs are to our King.
She brightens your day with her cute smile.
Search her heart and find no guile.
I wrote this poem; it’s just for her.
(Her mother once told me she liked my fur.)
Elsa and I—born the very same day.
No relative matches that, not even Uncle Jay.
2004 was a wonderful year,
Made her grand entry our Elsa dear.
Now she’s going to hit 14!
“Happy Birthday” to the reigning Stubbs queen.
