Musical Compositions
Endure to the End
In 2001, my son Joshua Alma Enslen, who has a degree in music from the University of Alabama (among other post secondary degrees), put my poem “Endure to the End” to music.
“Endure to the end,” said Nephi of old.
Yield not unto sin; be strong and bold.
And seek to bring forth my Zion that day.
Find peace in the Lamb, the Light, the Way.
“Endure to the end,” Amaleki said.
His hand He will lend, Christ is not dead.
Come unto the Christ and offer your souls.
Partake of His power and love untold.
“Endure to the end,” as Alma did preach.
His powerful words, their hearts did reach.
A mighty change there also was wrought.
The true living God salvation bought.
“Endure to the end,” the Savior hath said.
In Christ is the Law, by him we’re led.
“Endure to the end” ye surely shall live.
Unto us will he life eternal give.
“Endure to the end,” the Father did say.
The same shall be saved, this is the way.
Have brightness of hope, and love of all men,
Press forward in faith, the vict’ry win.
The words are derived from five scriptures in the Book of Mormon that relate to enduring to the end: 1 Nephi 13:37; Omni 1:26; Alma 5:13; 3 Nephi 15:9; 2 Ne. 31:15; 20-21.
NOTE: The bold print signifies direct quotes from the above cited scriptures.
