Poetry
The following birthday poem was written for Ashley Enslen Best, Alyssa Enslen, and Elsa Stubbs, three of my granddaughters who were born on the same day of the year as myself. This poem was for the November 12, 2020, year. Ashley was recently married and is age 23, Alyssa has started college and is age 19. Elsa is seeking her driver’s license at age 16.
November 12th
November 12th, a wonderful day!
Four offspring cast into the fray,
Commanded to trust and faithfully obey,
To follow Him who lights the way,
A proving ground our earthly stay.
‘46, ‘97, ‘01, ‘04,
58 years between us four.
Three queenly grands I do adore,
To glorious heights I watch them soar.
Honorable women—could ask not more.
On this your very special day,
There is one thing I feel to say,
My love for you is on display.
Send joy your way is what I pray,
Abundant blessings in vast array.
For you I wish a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”
