Poetry

On October 1, 2019, I drafted and sent the following poem to my granddaughter Emily Pinkston who was serving a fulltime mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Florida Orlando Mission during the COVID pandemic.

My Dear Sister Missionary

So, you’re on the go,
No worry about dough,
No grass to mow,
No thoughts of Bo.
Serving the low
Without quid pro quo.

Companion in tow,
Working in the glow
To the end of the row.
No time to be slow.
Satan’s the foe,
Delving out the woe.

With love “Chao”
