Poetry
My youngest grandchild, Alexandra “Allie” Enslen, turned eight years of age on January 30, 2021. I sent her the following poem in a birthday card that contained the photo of a pretty cat on its cover.
My Allie Girl
This card, cover with catty,
Meant just for sweet Allie,
Not Sallie, Patty, or Hattie.
You know, Allie,
the girl not fatty,
Dresses up so natty,
Despite a room that looks ratty,
She who sometimes acts batty,
But most beloved by her granddaddy.
P.S. Cat not from the alley.
