Poetry
On January 30, 2023, I sent this poem, along with a birthday check, to my ten-year-old granddaughter Alexandra “Allie” Enslen who lives in Cornwall on the Hudson, New York. Her father is a professor at West Point.
To My Dear Allie
To my dear Allie
Of the Hudson River Valley,
Around whom the family does rally,
Some money of high tally,
Buy lots of peanut butter and jally,
Now go forth and sally,
Get out of the galley,
No more dilly dally.
With love from your old Pal-lie,
Granddiddy
